|KEOTA-Johnathon Dietze, age 19, of Keota, died Saturday, February 7, 2009, at University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics in Iowa City, following a long illness.
Johnathon was born August 31, 1989, in Iowa City, to Gerald, Jr. and Laura (Guthridge) Dietze. He graduated from Keota High School in 2007 and attended Indian Hills Community College, taking courses in Computer Drafting. Johnathon also worked at Subway in Washington and Fairfield. He loved his dog, Cerb, his horse, Domino, camping, fishing, working on his truck and making people laugh.
Survivors include his parents: Gerald, Jr. and Laura Dietze of Keota; two sisters: Trisha of Rubio and Cathrine of Keota; grandparents: Dr. Troy and Diane Guthridge of What Cheer, Gerald Dietze, Sr. of Williamsburg and Margaret Urban of Sumpter, South Carolina and girlfriend: Cassie Riegel of Birmingham. He was preceded in death by his grandmother: Cheryl Dietze.
Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Tuesday, February 10, 2009, at the United Church of Faith in Keota, with Rev. Dennis Hopes officiating. Burial will be at Keota Cemetery. Visitation will be from 4:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. on Monday, February 9, 2009, at Powell Funeral Home in Keota.
A memorial fund has been established for the University of Iowa Pediatric Activity Fund. Powell Funeral Home and Cremation Service in Keota is caring for Johnathon and his family. |
