Freddie Eugene Clay Jr., was born September 30, 1959 in Cedar Rapids, Iowa the son of Freddie and Wanda June (Milford) Clay Sr. He has lived in the Wellman community all of his life where he worked in construction. He enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren and riding motorcycles. Freddie died on Friday, May 11, 2012 at the University of Iowa Hospital in Iowa City at the age of 52 years.
Freddie is survived by his girlfriend Thelma M. Williams of Wellman; two sons - Troy Clay (Ashley Farlow) of Keota; Randy Williams (Heather Smith) of Harper; five grandchildren; two sisters - Beverly Vest of Wellman; Linda Maxine Brady of Sebastopol, CA; and a brother Raymond Eugene Clay of Arizona City, AZ. He was preceded in death by his parents, and two sisters - Gayle Elaine Clay and Dena Boyer.
Funeral Services will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Wednesday, May 16, 2012 at the Powell Funeral Home in Wellman. Visitation will be held from 3-8 p.m. on Tuesday at the Funeral Home. A General Memorial fund has been established.
