Bob found pleasure in everyday family activities; always enthusiastic for a road trip to attend a kid's sporting event or a family party, and he established many long-lived friendships with extended 'family' through his interest and generosity related to genealogy research. One of Bob's early jobs was as a photographer, studying and working with Fred W. Kent at the University of Iowa, and his collection of photographs and slides have provided many with source material and special entertainment. He and Mary were active volunteers for many years at the Iowa County Historical Society; Bob served as Treasurer of the historical society for 12 years and especially enjoyed his work restoring the log cabin and the Gritter Creek School building.

Sorry to hear of Bob's passing. Truly enjoyed visiting with Bob on a couple of trips back to Iowa County to do genealogy. He was a great tour guide and source of knowledge with a wonderful sense of humor. I appreciated him putting me in touch with a Wagner cousin on a branch I'm related to. I know he was trying to connect his tree to Adam and Eve but I appreciated all the help and interest on the branches of the tree more closely related! My Mom was also with me at the time and sends her sympathies. May your memories of a life well lived help you at this time.
Lovely memories... the uncle that organized the games, brought the canoe and took many pictures to remember the fun! Generous with his time and memory. Always willing to meet us at the museum or talk about family history. Our son, Ken loved the attention and patience. We will miss you, Uncle Bob! Love to all, Anne Wagner Connell and family
So sorry for the loss of Uncle Bob, he will be greatly missed by his friends and family... My prayers to the family.... R.I.P Bob
So sorry to hear of Bob's passing. He will be missed by the entire community. Our thoughts & prayers are with the Wagner family.
