Bertha Brenneman

Kalona-Bertha (Miller) Brenneman was born January 2, 1930, in Kalona, Iowa. The daughter of Dennis J. and Ida (Helmuth) Miller. She passed away on Wednesday February 1, 2023, at her home at the age of 93 years, 30 days. She was baptized in her youth in the Old Order Amish Church where she remained faithful until her death.
Bertha was united in marriage to Raymond G. Brenneman on December 8, 1955. They lived in matrimony 44 years. He preceded her in death September 1999.

Bertha is survived by 8 children and their spouses; Nathan and wife Hannah of Cameron, Ontario, Rebecca and husband Perry Yoder of Kalona, Rudy and wife Geneva of  Percy, IL, Priscilla and husband Timothy Beachy, Marcus and wife Laura, Emma Grace and husband Herman Yoder, Aquila and wife Emma Grace and Laban and wife Delores all of Kalona.
Also surviving are 62 grandchildren, 25 great grand children, 6 step grand children and numerous step great grandchildren; 2 sisters, Lavina and husband Nelson Hochstetler and Mrs. Elsie Miller.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, 3 grandchildren; Karlene, Joseph and Samuel Brenneman, 2 great grand children. 5 sisters; Verna, Emma, Mary, Amelia and Eunice. 3brothers Rudy, Simon and Jonas.

A funeral service will be 9:30 am Saturday, February 4, 2023, at Laban Brennenman residence 2228 500th St. SW Kalona, Iowa. Burial will be at North Gingerich Cemetery. Visitation days and hour are to follow Thursday, February 2 starting at 2:00 pm, then Friday, February 3 starting at 9:30 am. Yoder- Powell Funeral Home is caring for Bertha and her family.
