Bonita Sue Nicely

Bonita Sue Nicely, age 58, of Homestead, passed away July 7, 2017, at Windmill Manor, of Coralville, following a courageous battle with cancer. Funeral Services: 10:30 a.m., Thursday, July 13, 2017, at Kloster Funeral Home, Marengo, with Pastor Dennis Martens officiating. Family will receive friends from 4 to 7 p.m., Wednesday, July 12, 2017, at Kloster Funeral Home, Marengo. A memorial fund has been established.

Bonita is survived by her significant other Randy VonLienen, of Homestead; a daughter Danielle (Michael II) Henre, of Kansas; three grandchildren Jaden Goellnitz, Paxton Henre and Paris Henre of Kansas; two sisters Becky Brecht, of Marengo and Brenda (Mike) Stratton, of Homestead; and a brother Russ Brecht of Marengo. She was preceded in death by her parents.

Bonita was born June 4, 1959, in Marengo, the daughter of Dean and Merita Fay Martens Brecht. She graduated from Iowa Valley School in 1977. She attended Kirkwood Community College and got her CNA degree. Bonita worked at the Marengo Hospital as a CNA and Activity Coordinator and Moeller Accounting as a bookkeeper. Bonita loved to spend time with family and friends. She enjoyed taking vacations, going to the lake house, fishing, mushroom hunting and watching the Iowa Hawkeyes.
