Brian B. Zimpleman, 79, of Osage Beach, Missouri, passed away peacefully at home with his family by his side on Sunday, March 22, 2026.
Born on November 26, 1947, in Amana, Iowa, to Jack and Edna Zimpleman, Brian grew up with the values that would define his entire life: hard work, humility, and a deep devotion to the people he loved. On March 23, 1964, fate, and a bit of teenage driving, introduced him to the love of his life, Hollace Fairbank, when he accidentally crashed into her car. They lovingly retold the story for decades, calling their beginning “love at first crunch.” On June 7, 1969, they were married in the Amana Society Church, beginning a lifelong partnership built on faith, humor, and unwavering commitment.
Brian proudly served in the United States Marine Corps, completing three overseas tours during the Vietnam Era. His service shaped him into a man of quiet strength, resilience, and honor, qualities he carried with him throughout his life.
After returning home, Brian poured his heart into raising his two daughters, Brinadene and Zephanie, who were the pride and joy of his life. He worked tirelessly to provide for his family, holding a variety of roles throughout his career. From owning and operating his own insulation company, to his years with Anheuser‑Busch and Snap‑On, Brian approached every job with integrity, grit, and a work ethic that inspired everyone around him. Yet his greatest professional fulfillment came later in life, when he embraced the God‑given talent that had always been part of him: building. What began as a lifelong hobby and passion grew into a respected custom cabinetry business known for its craftsmanship, artistry, and honesty. His hand‑built pieces, each one shaped with patience, precision, and love, stand as a lasting legacy. They are heirlooms that will be cherished for generations.
Brian is preceded in death by his parents, Jack and Edna Zimpleman, and his granddaughter, Bergen Kopiske. He is survived by his loving wife, Hollace, of Osage Beach, Missouri; his daughters, Brinadene (Derek) Smith of Osage Beach, Missouri, and Zephanie Zimpleman Thompson of Edmond, Oklahoma; and his grandchildren: Brady Kopiske (Emerald Slaughter) of Cole Camp, Missouri, Sydney Kopiske (Carson Smith) of Bolivar, Missouri, Ashton Kopiske (Andrew Clavijo) of Lake Ozark, Missouri, Peyton Kopiske (Camille Thompson) of Rolla, Missouri, Gavin Thompson of Edmond, Oklahom, Zaden Thompson of Edmond, Oklahoma, Danielle Smith of Osage Beach, Missouri, Cassandra Smith of Sullivan, Missouri, Taylor Smith of Visalia, California, He is also survived by his great‑grandchildren, Bentley Nolan and Paislee Nolan, both of Visalia, California.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, March 26, 2026, from 4:00–7:00 p.m. at the Middle Amana Church. Funeral services will follow on Friday, March 27, 2026, at 11:00 a.m.
Brian leaves behind a family who adored him, a legacy built with his own hands, and a lifetime of stories that will continue to be told with love, pride, and laughter. He will be deeply missed and forever cherished by all who knew him.
