Carol Ann Walter

Oxford- Carol Ann Walter was born July 13, 1952, in Cedar Rapids, Iowa, the daughter of Raymond and Leona (Novak) Westemeier. She graduated from Kennedy High School and then earned a college degree from Kirkwood Community College. Carol was united in marriage to Kevin Walter on June 19, 1971, at Trinity Lutheran Church in Cedar Rapids. They lived in Cedar Rapid for 12 years before moving to Oxford. Carol worked for the Amana Refrigeration accounting department until 1999, she also worked for Clayton Marcus Furniture and the University of Iowa Community Medical Service. Carol was no stranger to anyone, she would talk to anyone and would quickly make new friends. She enjoyed bowling, cooking and for many years she decorated cakes for all types of events. What she enjoyed most of all was spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren. Carol passed away Tuesday, February 20, 2024, at Colonial Manor Nursing Home in Amana, at the age of 71 years. 
 
She is survived by her husband Kevin of Oxford, her children; Kris Walter of Oxford and Dan (Kathy) Walter of West Memphis, Arkansas; four grandchildren, Angel, Caden, Emily and Jasmine Walter; two brothers, Carl Westemeier of Cedar Rapids and Alvin (Pam) Westemeier of Coggin; two brothers-in-law, Todd (Lori) Walter of Oxford and Duane (Jane) Walter of Swisher and numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, her mother-in-law and father-in-law. 

A Celebration Of Life Service will be 10:30 am Saturday, February 24, 2024, at Immanuel Lutheran Church in rural Williamsburg. Burial will be at the Immanuel Lutheran Cemetery. Visitation will be from 4:00-7:00pm Friday, February 23, 2024, at Powell Funeral Home in Williamsburg. A memorial fund has been established for Lutheran Interparish School (L.I.S).
