Wellman- Carroll Eugene Fisher was born November 2, 1936 near Frytown, Iowa. The son of Glen and Mary (Groff) Fisher. He attended country school and helped his father farm and raise cattle. Later he raised sheep and hogs in the Wellman and Kalona area. He worked for Wellman Produce, drove a truck for Washington County Farm Store in Kalona and drove school bus for Mid-Prairie Schools. He enjoyed drinking coffee at DJ's with "the guys", watching football and basketball on TV, going to auctions and was an avid antique enthusiast. He was a member of the Franklin Methodist Church in rural Wellman. Carroll passed away Wednesday, January 20, 2021 at Parkview Manor in Wellman at the age of 84 years.
He is survived by his sister: Marlene Pope, daughter Juli (Hunter) Tandy, sons: Jerry (Dawn) Fisher, Terry (Karri) Fisher, Tracy Fisher; nephew Lynn Pope; twelve grandchildren and eleven great grandchildren. He is preceded in death by his parents and brother-in-law Charles Pope.
Celebration Of Life Service will be 10:30 am Wednesday, January 27,2021 at the Powell Funeral Home in Wellman, Iowa. Burial will be in the Wellman Cemetery. Visitation will be Tuesday from 3:00 to 7:00 pm with the family present from 5:00 to 7:00 pm at the Powell Funeral Home in Wellman. The service will be livestreamed on Powell Funeral Homes Facebook page and at www.powellfuneralhomes.com. A memorial fund has been established for Wellman First Responders.
