Chantal Jacoby

Cedar Rapids- Chantal Lee Jacoby (52), passed away peacefully on 8/19/2023 at St Lukes Hospital following a lengthy illness. Chantal “Chanee” was born on November 6^th, 1970, at the Grinnell Hospital to Larry & Shirlee (Darland) Hall and they resided in Brooklyn. Her family moved to Marengo in April of 1972. Chanee grew up in Marengo and attended Iowa Valley High School, she later earned her GED in 2011. She married Shane Jacoby on December 21, 1991, and had two children Nicole Paige and Bridgette Lee, the couple later divorced. Chanee worked at Rose Haven and Colonial Manor nursing homes with roles as a CNA, cook, and housekeeping. She was also employed at the Video Store, Casey’s, and Big “G” Food Store in Marengo. Chanee loved to spend time with her family and friends. Her life revolved around her daughter Bridgette as well as all her “adopted” children. She enjoyed listening to 80’s music, loved the Christmas holiday/music, and watching movies. She had many pets in her lifetime and each one of them meant the world to her.

Chanee is survived by her beautiful daughter Bridgette (CJ) Ford, her parents Larry & Shirlee Hall of Marengo, a brother Jay (Rhonda) Hall also from Marengo, 3 nieces, 1 nephew, and 1 great niece.

Chanee is proceeded in death by her beautiful daughter Nicole (1995), Maternal & Paternal Grandparents, her Aunt Suzanne Henry, and cousin Sean Darland.
