KEOTA-Charles “Chuck” Freeman, age 65, of Keota, died Monday, November 13, 2023, at University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics in Iowa City.
Chuck was born July 21, 1958, in Omaha, Nebraska, to James and Francine (Adam) Freeman. He graduated from Colonial High School in Orlando, Florida in 1976 and University of Central Florida. On April 12, 2002, he married Edye Edgin in Sanford, Florida. They moved to Kalona after a couple years of marriage, then to Keota eight years ago. Chuck was a financial planner for TIAA. He was a member of Holy Trinity Parish and the Lions Club. A jack of all trades, Chuck enjoyed playing farmer, hunting, the outdoors, music and being a father and husband.
Survivors include his wife: Edye of Keota; two children: Noah and Peyton Freeman; mother: Francine Freeman of Tiffin and sister: Cherie (Harry) Bird of Wonder Lake, Illinois. He was preceded in death by his father and three babies: Mathias, Norma and Christopher.
Memorial mass will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Monday, November 20, 2023, at Mother Cabrini Catholic Church in Richland. Casual attire is requested. Burial will be at Richland Friends Cemetery in Richland. There will be no visitation.
