Cheryl Rae George

Cheryl Rae George was born August 12, 1946, in Richland, Iowa, the daughter Virgil Edward & Fleeta Gwendolyn (Derby) Oswalt. She grew up in Keokuk county until her family moved to the Amana area in 1955, when she was 9. She graduated from Amana High School. On September 21, 1963, Cheryl was united in marriage to David George. They were blessed with two children. Over the years, Cheryl held many positions, but her most important one, was being a grandma. She enjoyed gardening, antiquing, going to flea markets and garage sales. Cheryl died on Tuesday, July 21, 1946, at Crestview Specialty Care in West Branch at the age of 79 years.

She is survived by three grandchildren Niki (Vince) Martinson of Williamsburg, Whitney (Brad) Weldon of Parnell and Chase Van Dee of Cedar Rapids; and two great grandchildren Clayton and Aubrey Martinson. She was preceded by her parents, husband; a daughter Becky Van Dee; a son Jeff George; a brother Fred Oswalt; and a sister Kathryn Cronbaugh.
