Claudia Ardys Doehrmann

Williamsburg-Claudia Ardys Doehrmann was born April, 27, 1944 in Williamsburg, Iowa, the daughter of W. Arthur and Velma (Dietrich) Newkirk. She attended school in North English and graduated from Williamsburg High School in 1962. Claudia was united in marriage to Lloyd Doehrmann on May 10, 1964 at St. Paul Lutheran Church in Williamsburg. She worked at several hotels in the area throughout the years. Claudia enjoyed playing cards, knitting, going to cross country meets, bingo, going to the Old Creamery Theater and watching cartoons. She especially enjoyed her family time and doing activities with her children and grandchildren. Claudia passed away on Monday, November 9, 2020 at St. Luke's Hospital in Cedar Rapid at the age of 76.

She is survived by six children, Brian (friend Sandra) Doehrmann of North Liberty, Jay (Marcia) Doehrmann of North English, Tony (Carrie) Doehrmann of New Richmond, WI, Sheila (Richard) Kruse of Williamsburg, Sara (Derrick) Grubb of Indianola and Stacey Doehrmann of Williamsburg; 8 grandchildren; a sister, Darlyn Garringer of Parnell; a brother, Ramon (Mary) Newkirk of Riverside and a brother-in-law, Bruce (Arlys) Doehrmann of South Amana. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband Lloyd (2019) and brother-in-law Bill Garringer.

Celebration of Life Memorial Service will be 10:30 am Monday, November 16, 2020 at St. John's Lutheran Church in Marengo. Visitation will be Sunday from 2:00 to 4:00 pm at the Powell Funeral Home in Williamsburg. The service will be live streamed on our webpage or our Face book page. Please practice social distancing.
