SIGOURNEY-Cleone Olive Williams, age 88, of Sigourney, died Friday, February 24, 2012, at Manor House Care Center in Sigourney. Cleone was born July 2, 1923, in Cedar Rapids, the daughter of Bill and Edith (Taylor) Cram. She was one of three children; a brother, Marion and a sister, Phyllis Jordan, both live in North English. Cleone graduated from North English High School in 1941, then attended Iowa State Teacher's College in Cedar Falls, Kletzing in Oskaloosa and Parsons in Fairfield to obtain her teaching certificate and keep it current. She taught public and country schools until 1962 when all country schools were closed. On January 16, 1948, she married Milfred Edwin Williams at the Sigourney Christian Church. The couple lived and farmed south of Sigourney. Cleone was a member of the Sigourney Church of Christ and loved to garden, help out on the farm and take care of her family. Survivors include two sons: Steven (Bonnie) Williams of Bemidji, Minnesota and John (Donna) Williams of Sigourney; eight grandchildren; 15 great grandchildren; brother: Marion and sister: Phyllis. She was preceded in death by her parents and husband: Milfred in 1974. Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Wednesday, February 29, 2012, at Powell Funeral Home in Sigourney, with Rev. Billy Claywell officiating. Burial will be at Pennington Cemetery in rural Sigourney. Visitation will be from 4:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday, February 28, 2012, at the funeral home.
