Clifford Heitshusen

South Amana- Clifford Henry Heitshusen was born April 5, 1924 near South Amana, Iowa, the son of Henry Herman and Rose Elizabeth (Ristedt) Heitshusen. He attended Immanuel Lutheran School near Williamsburg. Clifford was united in marriage to Luanna Bertha Sessler on July 11, 1948 at the Trinity Lutheran Church in Lowden, Iowa. Clifford was a life long farmer near South Amana. He was a member of Immanuel Lutheran Church were he has served as a Trustee and Chairman. He also served as an Iowa Township Trustee, board member of Farm Service and was active in the Iowa County Republican Party. Clifford passed away peacefully with his family by his side on Sunday, October 11, 2015 at the Highland Ridge Care Center at the age of 91 years.

He is survived by three children: Arlys (Bruce) Doehrmann, Bruce (Debi) Heitshusen and David (Patti) Heitshusen all of South Amana; six grandchildren: Mark (Sandi) Doehrmann of Murrietta, CA, Anne (Steve) Faber of Hopkinton, Jacob Heitshusen of LeSueur, MN, Hannah Heitshusen of Iowa City, William (Abby) Heitshusen of Gretna, NE and Brett (Stephanie) Heitshusen of Boulder, CO; 6 great grandchildren: Ryan, Nicole, Brianna and Dana Doehrmann and Taylor & Bryce Heitshusen; a sister: Myrle Stanerson of Williamsburg. He was preceded in death by his parents, wife in 2011 and three sisters: Melva Heitshusen, Bernice Heitshusen and Dorothy Baack.

Celebration of Life Service will be held 10:30 AM on Wednesday, October 14, 2015 at Immanuel Lutheran Church, rural Williamsburg. Rev. Richard Meyer will officiate. Burial will be in the Immanuel Lutheran Cemetery. Visitation will be on Tuesday, from 4:00 - 8:00 PM at the Powell Funeral Home, Williamsburg.
