Williamsburg- Colleen Clara Shaull was born June 11, 1953, in Williamsburg, the daughter of Raymond and Loretta (Gray) Murphy. She graduated from Williamsburg High School in 1971. Colleen worked in the accounting department and then house department at the University of Iowa from 1979 until retiring in 2019. On December 28, 1974, Colleen was united in marriage to Larry John Shaull at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Parnell. Colleen is a member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Williamsburg. She enjoyed spending time with grandchildren and family, celebrating her Irish Heritage, going to the casino with her sisters, playing Bingo at Tama, volunteering at the historical Society and socializing at the Dinner Bell club. Colleen passed away Sunday, January 18, 2026 at Highland Ridge Care Center in Williamsburg at the age of 72 years.
Colleen is survived by two children, Todd (Melanie) Shaull of Hartwick and Emily (John Gilmore) Shaull-Phillips of Williamsburg; 6 grandchildren, Patrick, Breanna, Kyla, Landon, Hanna and Ian; 7 siblings, Kathryn Wherle of Oxford, Mary (Jim) Possehl of Williamsburg, Karen (Rick) Frimml of Marengo, Bob (Jane) Murphy of Manchester, Ann (Scott) Krakow of Parnell, Betty (Jeff) Maas of Williamsburg and Tom (Carol) Murphy of Parnell and sister-in-law, Janet Murphy of Georgia. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband Larry, two brothers Patrick and Frank Murphy and a brother-in-law Bill Wherle.
Funeral Mass will be held 10:30 am Saturday, January 24, 2026, at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Williamsburg. Burial will be at St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery in Parnell at a later date. Visitation will be from 4:00 to 7:00 pm Friday, January 23, 2026 with a Rosary at 3:45 pm at the Powell Funeral Home in Williamsburg. A general memorial fund has been established.
