Connie J. Cooling

Marengo- Connie Jean Cooling was born September 28, 1966, in Holstein, Iowa, the daughter of Charles and Donna (Ruhlow) Schubert. She graduated from Galva-Holstein High School and then from Morningside College. Connie was united in marriage to Ray Cooling on June 25, 1994, in Holstein, Iowa. Together they made their home in Marengo. Connie was a receptionist at Charles Capper Auto Center in Marengo. She enjoyed attending high school sporting events, crafting, and most of all spending time with her grandchildren. Connie died Thursday, May 22, 2025, at her home surrounded by family at the age of 58 years.

She is survived by her husband, Ray; two sons, Dalton (Cassidy) Cooling and Dakota (Jolissa) Cooling both of Brooklyn; three grandchildren, Dallas, Delilah and Louyah; sister Clair (Mike) Morong of Parker, CO; brother Kerry (Carla) Schubert of Holstein; nieces, Kayla and Kara; nephews, Casey, Wesley and Justin; and her great nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents and brother Kyle.

Celebration of Life Memorial Gathering will be held 1:00-4:00 p.m. on Saturday, June 7, 2025, at the Iowa Valley High School Gym. In lieu of flowers, a general memorial fund has been established.
