North English-Cynthia Sue Walter was born October 18, 1954 in Waterloo, Iowa, the daughter of Wayne D. And Shirley Ann (Kutin) Toney. She graduated from Belle Plaine High School. Cindy was united in marriage to Larry Walter on August 6, 1988 at the Trinity Lutheran Church in Conroy. The couple has lived in the Parnell and North English areas. Cindy worked at the University of Iowa as a custodian since 2003. She was a member of the St. Paul Lutheran Church in Williamsburg. Cindy loved trail riding and caring for her horses. She also enjoyed her cats and flowers. Cindy died Saturday, August 15, 2009 at her home from complications of cancer at the age of 54 years. She is survived by her husband: Larry of North English; a daughter: Jamie (John) Botts of Des Moines; a son: Dan (Erin) Walter of Washington, Illinois; two grandchildren: Sam and Bess Walter; a sister: Linda Shamley of Arizona; mother-in-law: Lois Wallace of Williamsburg; father: Wayne Toney of Belle Plaine and mother: Shirley Coyne of Butte, Montana. She was preceded in death by a son Michael in 1998. Celebration on life service will be 11:00 am Tuesday, August 18, 2009 at the St. Paul Lutheran Church in Williamsburg. Pastor Carl Cloeter will officiate. Visitation will be Monday from 2:00 to 8:00 pm at the Powell Funeral Home and Cremation Service in Williamsburg.
