Dale R. Cavin, 62, of Mt. Pleasant, IA, died on Wednesday, July 24, 2013, at his home. Visitation will be held on Monday, July 29, 2013, from 9:00 until 10:30 a.m., at the Olson-Powell Memorial Chapel of Mt. Pleasant. Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m., following visitation, at the Memorial Chapel, with Pastor Jeff McPheron officiating. Burial will be in the Ollie, IA Cemetery. A memorial has been established. Born January 16, 1951, in Ottumwa, IA, Dale Ray was the son of Ralph George and Evelyn June Winter Cavin. He was educated in the Washington Community School District. He married Mary Hines. They later divorced. He then married Diane Perrin. They later divorced. Always an Iowa resident, Dale has lived in Riverside, Hills, and Iowa City before moving to Mt. Pleasant five years ago. He worked for Kalona Plastics and on the production line at Heatilator for ten years. Over the years, Dale delivered newspapers for The Mt. Pleasant News, The Burlington Hawkeye, and The Des Moines Register. In his spare time, Dale liked to fish and work on cars. He was of the Christian faith. Dale is survived by three daughters, Cindy Cavin of What Cheer, IA, Vicky Cavin of Keswick, IA, and Darlene Cavin of Iowa City, IA: two sons, Daryl (Mica) Cavin of Oskaloosa, IA and Tony Cavin of Iowa City, IA; one brother, Gary (Rose) Cavin of Salt Lake City, UT; and three sisters, Linda (Dean) Russell, of Sigourney, IA, Gloria Palmer of Mt. Pleasant, IA, and Carolyn (James) Marshall of Burlington, IA. He is also survived by eight grandchildren. Along with his parents, Dale was preceded in death by a twin sister, Darlene Cavin; a sister, Joyce Hole; and a brother, Earl Cavin.
