Dean A. Lake

Cedar Rapids- Dean Allan Lake was born November 22, 1937, in Burlington, Iowa, the son of Neville and Mildred (Thomas) Lake. He graduated from Winfield High School in 1955. Dean was united in marriage to Connie Jones on April 8, 1982, in Cedar Rapids. They were blessed with 40 year together. He worked for Quaker Oats for 45 years as a head roll operator in the Oatmeal Department. Dean grew up in Winfield then moved to Cedar Rapids after graduating, where he lived full time, until retiring in 2001.  Dean and Connie spent their winters enjoying retirement in Texas.  Dean passed away Saturday, February 11, 2023, at home in Yorktown, Indiana, with his family and dogs at his side. He was 85 years old.

Dean is survived by his daughter, Tina Triggiani (Steven) Smith of Yorktown, IN; 2 grandchildren, Jacob (Elizabeth) Smith of Plainfield, IN and Jessica Smith (Zach Cramer), of Lawrence, IN; brother-in-law Kenton (Tracy) Jones of Parnell, and 2 nephews; Kyle Jones of Parnell and Trent Jones of Earlville. 

Dean is preceded in death by his parents, wife Connie of 40 years and a sister Dorothy Lake.

A celebration of life service will be 11:00 am Saturday February 18, 2023 at Yoder Powell Funeral Home in Kalona. Burial will be at Wellman Cemetery.
