Deborah Ann Downing

North English- Deborah Ann Downing was born December 20, 1955 in Dover, New Hampshire, the daughter of Harold Joseph & Frances Whittier (King) Downing. She graduated from Dover High School in Dover, New Hampshire and went on to receive her certificate for Certified Nurses Aid. Deborah was a devout catholic and took the time to study the bible and practice her faith religiously. When she was young she played the violin and to spite her hearing disability, received first place in a statewide competition in New Hampshire. She was also very active in helping with the boy scouts when she was younger, as her parents were scout leaders. Deborah loved going to the mountains and the beach, occasionally taking her nieces to York Beach in Maine when they were young. She enjoyed her great nieces and nephews and loved spending time with them. She adored raccoons and loved collecting shirts, photos and figurines of them. Deborah died on Tuesday, April 14, 2020 at University of Iowa Hospital in Iowa City at the age of 64 years.

She is survived by her brother Leon Downing of North English; three nieces Alexia (Jack) Van Dyke of South English, Chandria (Sam) Clayton of North English and Jasmin (Keith) Fry of Marengo; and five great nieces and nephews Zoey, Zaelynn & Zakyra Clayton of North English and Stanley & Toby Fry of Marengo. She was preceded in death by her parents.
