Debra Kay Jones

Williamsburg-Debra Kay Jones was born February 26, 1954, in Iowa City, Iowa, the daughter of Dale and Edna (Tuttle) Maudlin.  She graduated from Williamsburg High School and Mount Mercy College in Cedar Rapids.  Debra was united in marriage to Richard Jones on November 9, 1996, in Williamsburg.                     She was a Registered Nurse and has worked at Northwestern Hospital, University of Iowa Hospital and Clinics and was a hospice nurse.  She enjoyed doing Sudoku, the 4^th of July, her flowers and spending time with her family.  She also enjoyed putting up a Christmas display in the yard and collecting Christmas teddy bearers and reindeers.  Deb passed away on Thursday, March 30, 2023, at St. Luke’s Hospital in Cedar Rapids at the age of 69 years.

She is survived by her husband Richard of Williamsburg; daughters, Amber (Justin) Larson of Williamsburg and Emily (Chris) Skaggs of Des Moines; sons, Justin (Rachel) Jones of West Amana and Kevin (Ryann) Jones of Deep River; grandchildren, Curtis, Grant, Christopher, Michael, Loralei, Selena, Acacia, Cohen, Kendal, Dylan, Ashley, Serenity, Lacie, Ricky, Hallie and Lucas; great grandchildren, Willow and Desmond; a brother, Dennis Maudlin of North Liberty and honorary children, Kelly and Duane Scott and Malissa Larson.  She was preceded in death by her parents.

Celebration of Life Service will be 10:30 am on Tuesday, April 4, 2023 at the Powell Funeral Home in Williamsburg.  Visitation will be Monday from 4:00 to 7:00 pm at the funeral home.  Burial will be at Pilot Grove Cemetery.  A memorial fund has been established for Essence of Life Hospice.  Messages and tributes may be directed to www.powellfuneralhomes.com.
