North English-Debra Diane Pope was born March 2, 1958, in Grinnell, Iowa. The daughter of Harold and Arlene (Ross) Lee. She graduated from Deep River Millersburg High School in 1976. Debbie was united in marriage to Terrance Leo Pope on June 26, 1976, at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Parnell. Debbie worked for Evans Photography and Lifetouch for over 30 years. She enjoyed going for car rides, feeding bottle calves, reading and cooking. Debbie died Wednesday, February 4, 2026, at the University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics in Iowa City at the age of 67 years.

She is survived by her husband Terry of North English; a brother, Darl (Ethel) Lee of Carlisle and a number of nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, two sons Stephen and Joseph, a nephew David Lee and a great nephew Taylor Curtis

A funeral mass will be 10:30 am on Monday, February 9, 2026, at St. Joseph Catholic Church in North English. Burial will be at the Millersburg Cemetery. Visitation will be Sunday from 2:00 to 4:00 pm at the Powell Funeral Home in North English. There will be a prayer service at 4:00 pm. A memorial fund has been established for the University of Iowa Specialty Clinic. Messages and tributes may be directed to www.powellfuneralhomes.com.
