Dennis Lee Hochstedler was born August 30, 1960, in Canton, Ohio, the son of Henry and Beulah (Hostetler) Hochstedler. At the age of 1 month, he moved to the Kalona area with his family, which he called home for most of the rest of his life. He graduated with a business degree from the University of Iowa in 1990 and worked as a business manager for several years. Dennis had a sense of humor, was often in the center of practical jokes, and enjoyed a good laugh.
He enjoyed cooking, traveling, fishing in Canada and raising and showing dogs. Dennis loved his siblings and would connect with us periodically, especially when we were travelling, to see how things were going, and when we would arrive home. Then he communicated that to the rest of the family. His love for his family extended to his nieces and nephews and to their children. He took a keen interest in their activities and loved to report on their accomplishments. He enjoyed music, and the last 6 months, often sang as he passed the time.
