Williamsburg- Doris Mae Maas was born November 12, 1930, in Marengo, Iowa, the daughter of George and Mae (Greenfield) Wiebold. She graduated from Marengo High School in 1948. Doris was united in marriage to Norman Wolter on July 13, 1952. To this union they were blessed with two children. He died July 15, 1974. She was later married to Carl Maas on January 11, 1978, at St. Paul Lutheran Church in Williamsburg. Carl died January 22, 1996. Doris had worked at Amana Refrigeration, Multi County Oil and the Little Amana Winery. She was an avid Hawkeye and Atlanta Braves fan. She enjoyed going to Colorado and watching her grandchildren in their activities. Doris also loved being on the farm and her cats. Doris died Saturday, February 28, 2026, at the Highland Ridge Care Center in Williamsburg at the age of 95 years.
She is survived by her son Reed Wolter of Newberry Florida; granddaughters; Heather (Bob Hosier) Hahn of Atkins, Holly (Ed) Barrett of Austin, Texas and Isabella Wolter of Fort Lauderdale, Florida; numerous great grandchildren; step-children; Jeffrey (Betty) Maas of Williamsburg, Robyn (Bill) Schaefer of Conroy and David (Kim) Maas of Williamsburg and numerous step grandchildren and great grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her parents, husbands, a daughter Cynthia Broadwater, a grandson Jason Hahn, a great grandson Timothy Hahn; brothers Earl Wiebold and Gilbert Wiebold; two sisters Florence Wiebold Ahrens and Irma Wiebold Plotz; and a sister-in-law LaDean Wiebold.
Funeral services will be 10:00 am on Saturday, March 7, 2026, at the Trinity Lutheran Church in Conroy. Burial will be at St. Paul Lutheran Cemetery in Williamsburg. Visitation will be Friday from 5:00 to 7:00 pm at the Powell Funeral Home in Williamsburg. In lieu of flowers donations can be made to Lutheran Interparish School or Trinity Lutheran Church.
