KEOTA-Dorothy K. Greiner, age 86, of Keota, died Friday, May 28, 2010, at Maplewood Manor in Keota. Dorothy was born January 8, 1924, in Keokuk County, Iowa, to William and Margaret (Rettler) Greiner and received her education in Shinbone and Clear Creek country schools. She lived in the home where she was born until moving to Maplewood Manor in April of 2008. Dorothy milked cows for 50 years and also enjoyed raising chickens. She was a member of Holy Trinity Parish - St. Mary Catholic Church. Survivors include her brother: Danny Greiner and wife Hazel of Brighton; three nieces and three nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; brother: Donald Greiner and sister-in-law: Edith Greiner. A memorial mass will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Wednesday, June 2, 2010, at Holy Trinity Parish - St. Mary Catholic Church in Keota, with Rev. Paul Appel officiating. Visitation will be from 9:00 a.m. until 10:00 a.m. on Wednesday, June 2, 2010, at the church. A memorial fund has been established for the Holy Trinity Cemetery Fund, Keota Fire Department or Hospice Compassus.
