Williamsburg- Elaine Anna Iburg was born January 10, 1936, in Iowa Township near Homestead, Iowa, the daughter of Arnold and Anna (Doehrmann) Glandorf. She was baptized January 13, 1936. She attended Immanuel Lutheran School and was confirmed May 28, 1950. On April 22, 1955, Elaine was united in marriage to Robert Ottmer Iburg at Immanuel Lutheran Church, rural Williamsburg. They were blessed with 70 years together. She worked as a waitress for 42 years at Nickerson Farms, Colony Village, Colony Haus and Ox Yoke Interstate, along with helping Robert on the farm and raising their four children. In their younger years, roller skating, going to movies and craft shows. Elaine was a lifetime member of Immanuel Lutheran Church, where she served with the Ladies Aid and church choir. She enjoyed gardening, flowers, playing games with her grandchildren and baking, especially cinnamon rolls, pies and coffee cakes, and most of all spending time with her family and friends. She had a passion for music, singing in the church choir, playing the piano and accordion. Elaine died on July 17, 2025, at the Highland Ridge Care Center at the age of 89 years.
She is survived by a daughter Sylvia (Pat) Ballantyne of Des Moines; three sons Lester (Cindy Dupay) Iburg of White Bear, Minnesota, Leon Iburg of Williamsburg and Lowell (Pam) Iburg of Marengo; seven grandchildren Heather (Chadd) Egenberger, Nicole (Nestor) Machuca, Lucas Iburg, Lance (Jenna) Iburg, Ryan (Megan) Iburg, Mitch (Zoe) Iburg and Ben (Felicia Wolters) Iburg; seven great grandchildren Trisen Emery, Ronan Emery, Landon Iburg, Oliver Iburg, Westton Egenberger, Piper Iburg and Eren Machuca; seven siblings Helen Kessler of Williamsburg, Orlen (Loretta) Glandorf of Williamsburg, Richard (Linda) Glandorf of Marengo, Lola Schmidt of Overland Park, Kansas, Willard (Pat) Glandorf of Williamsburg, Marie (Larry) Blazicek of Fairfax and Earl (Carol) Glandorf of Homestead; and numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded by her parents; husband; a sister Ruth Norton and a brother Robert Glandorf.
Funeral Service will be held 10:30 am on Wednesday, July 23, 2025, at Immanuel Lutheran Church, rural Williamsburg. Burial will follow in the Immanuel Lutheran Cemetery. Visitation will be on Tuesday, from 4:00 - 7:00 pm at the Powell Funeral Home in Williamsburg. Memorials may be given to Immanuel Lutheran Church or the Lutheran Interparish School.
