Eldred “Pee Wee” Plotz

Eldred “Pee Wee” Plotz, age 90, of Walford, passed away Monday, June 26, 2017, at his son’s home in Delhi, Iowa. There will be a Celebration of Life gathering at Eldred’s home in Walford, Iowa, on Saturday, July 22, 2017, from 2 to 6 p.m. Memorials may be contributed to the Alzheimer’s Association, Honor Flight of Cedar Rapids, or the Safe Haven of Iowa County. Burial will be in the Marengo Cemetery. Kloster Funeral Home, Marengo, Iowa, is assisting the family with arrangements.

Eldred is survived by his son Eldred (Janelle) Plotz Jr., of Delhi; two brothers Parlyn (Helen) Plotz, of Marengo and John (Trudy) Plotz, of Cedar Rapids. He was preceded in death by his wife, parents, a son David in infancy, three brothers Leo, Melvin and Jerry Plotz and a sister Mary.

Eldred David Plotz was born May 18, 1927, in rural Marengo, the son of Rudolph and Elizabeth McGuire Plotz. He was united in marriage to Ida Leona Wyant on October 20, 1949, at St. Michael’s Catholic Church, Norway, Iowa. Eldred worked at Wilson Foods in Cedar Rapids, as well as Farmstead, where he retired after 35 years.
