Emma Jean Moore-Smith, 97, of Lee's Summit, Missouri passed away on January 29, 2021 at the John Knox Village Hospice Center in Lee's Summit, Missouri.

Emma Jean Moore-Smith was born on January 15, 1924 in South English, Iowa to Rollie and Ruth Long. She spent her youth riding horses in South English and then in Marion, Iowa at the 3R Ranch. She married Carl L. Moore on July 27, 1944. Three sons were born to the marriage.

In 1969, Emma and Carl bought the Wine Art franchise for Kansas and Missouri. They operated four stores until they sold the business in 1980. Emma then went to work for United Telecom/Sprint until her retirement. She celebrated 57 years of marriage to Carl until his death in 2001. She later was married to C.W. Smith, a retired Mississippi State Trooper until his death on October 9, 2007.

Emma was preceded in death by her parents, Ruth and Rollie Long; a son, Arlen Lee Moore; her husband, Carl Moore; her husband C.W. Smith; and a great-grandchild, Liam David Johnson. She is survived by her two sons and their wives, Philip and Ruth Moore of Gillette, Wisconsin, and Steve and Allison Moore of Kansas City, Missouri. She also leaves five grandchildren, 15 great-grandchildren, and many friends.

The family will hold a graveside service at the English River Church of the Brethren on February 8, 2021. Arrangements: Powell Funeral Home, North English, Iowa and Muehlebach Funeral Home, Kansas City, Missouri.
