Ethel Lucille Doehrmann

Williamsburg- Ethel Lucille Doehrmann was born May 25, 1953, in Washington, Iowa, the daughter of Raymond and Marie Anna (Luers) Britten. She graduated from Williamsburg High School, and attended Iowa State University and the University Of Iowa. On June 23, 1972, Ethel was united in marriage to Gordon Doehrmann, at St. Paul Lutheran Church. She worked retail for many years and was an assistant manager for Woolrich  and later Le Gourmet Chef at Tanger Outlet Mall. She also helped Gordon on the farm while raising their daughters. Ethel was a member of Bethany Lutheran Church in Cedar Rapids. She enjoyed painting, gardening, being outdoors, going for walks, driving the car, traveling (Route 66 and the Lincoln Highway) doing building and construction work and chasing her grandchildren around. Ethel died on Wednesday, January 7, 2026, at the University of Iowa Hospital in Iowa City, at the age of 72 years.

She is survived by her husband, Gordon of Williamsburg; two daughters, Tracy (Jeremiah) Leuenhagen and Nikki (Corey) Stackhouse all of Fairfax; seven grandchildren, Lelaina & Alexandra Olson, Jase & Tristan Bond, Brooke & Blake Leuenhagen and Addyson Stackhouse and a sister, Linda Grice. She was preceded by her parents and a brother Ethan Britten.

A celebration of life service will be held 10:30 am on Monday, January 12, 2026, at Bethany Lutheran Church in Cedar Rapids. Burial will be held at 2:00 pm at the St. Paul Lutheran Cemetery in Williamsburg. Visitation will be on Sunday, from 1:00 - 3:00 pm at the Powell Funeral Home in Williamsburg. Memorials may be given to Lutheran Family Services, Lutheran Interparish School, or Baby Bottle Boomerang. Powell Funeral Home in Williamsburg is caring for Ethel and her family.
