Francis E. Dick, age 87, of Sigourney died following a long illness at the Keokuk County Health Center in Sigourney, on Saturday, June 5, 2004. Celebration of Life Services will be held at 10:30 am on Tuesday, June 8, 2004, at the Reynolds-Powell Funeral Chapel in Sigourney. The Rev. Frances Baumert will officiate. Burial will be in the Pleasant Grove Cemetery. Visitation will be held at the funeral chapel on Monday, from 3:00 until 8:00pm, with a Masonic Service being held at 8:00pm. A memorial fund has been established for Webb Lodge Masonic Scholarship Fund. Francis E. Dick was born on July 4, 1916 near Ollie, Iowa, a son of Lemuel I. and Clarissa Ruggles Dick. He grew up near Ollie and attended Walden Country School. On April 6, 1938, Francis was united in marriage to Henrietta Hauschild at the Methodist Parsonage in Sigourney. They lived and farmed near Ollie until 1973, when he retired from farming and moved into Sigourney. Francis also worked for Keokuk County and continued to work there until 1980. He was a member of the Webb Masonic Lodge, Davenport Consistory and the KAABA Shrine, and was a former Izaak Walton member. He loved being with his grandchildren, hunting, fishing and gardening. He died following a long illness at the Keokuk County Health Center in Sigourney, on Saturday, June 5, 2004, at the age of 87 years. Francis is survived by his wife Henrietta of Sigourney; a daughter Charlotte Deitrich and her husband James of Sigourney; 2 grandchildren: Jane Bruns (Scott) of Washington, Iowa and Michael Deitrich of Olathe, Kansas; a great granddaughter, Morgan Bruns, 2 step great granddaughters, Lacey and Allie Bruns all of Washington, Iowa. Francis was preceded in death by his parents, sisters Elsie Clingan and Bessie Pilkington.
