Geraldine Weck

Williamsburg-Geraldine (Geri) Kielty Weck was born January 9, 1937, in Great Bend Township, Cottonwood County, Minnesota. The daughter of Joseph M. and Gladys V. (Penoyer) Kielty, Geri grew up on the family farm near Alpha, MN, and attended country school. She received her BA from Mankato State University in Education. Geri was united in marriage to Henry (Hank) Weck on July 25, 1964 at St. Wenceslaus Catholic Church in Jackson, MN. Geri taught school as a civilian overseas on a US Airforce Base, later upstate New York, and her last teaching was at Humboldt, Iowa. She enjoyed traveling, playing cards and Mahjong, making greeting cards, and she was an avid reader. Geri also enjoyed her time at Highland Ridge, being very active and enjoying the friends she met. Geri died Friday, May 1, 2026, at the University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics in Iowa City at the age of 89 years.She is survived by her two sons: Shawn (Angela) Weck of Edwards, IL, and Erin (Dea) Weck of Williamsburg; 9 grandchildren and 6 great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband in 2016, her brother Patrick Kielty in 2000, and her brother Douglas in infancy.Visitation will be Thursday, May 7, from 5:00 to 7:00 pm at the Powell Funeral Home in Williamsburg. Funeral Mass will be 10:30 am on Friday, May 8, at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Williamsburg, with the burial at St. Mary’s Cemetery. Reception in the Parish Hall will follow the burial.
