Irmtraud is survived by her daughter Angelika (Doug) Bryson; two grandchildren Gina Glandorf (Travis) and Levi Bryson; a great-grandchild David Bryson; two brothers Jurgen Meissner and Fred Meissner; two sisters Erna Beug and Anita Kemp; and a sister-in-law Gerda Graesser, and nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Helmut a daughter Monika at birth and a sister at a very young age.

Irmtraud Moeller was born September 9, 1931, in Rhede Westphalia, Germany, the daughter of Conrad and Wilhelmina Bude Meissner. She grew up in Germany where she attended school and later worked on various farms. On one farm she cleaned for a woman who was handicapped and in a wheelchair. She shared with her daughter, Angelika that she would have loved to have gone to nursing school, but the finances just were not there. She was the eldest of five and took care of her siblings as well. Irmtraud was united in marriage to Helmut Moeller on July 24, 1954 in Germany.

In October of 1962, she and Helmut, along with their 1 year old daughter Angelika came to the United States to live. They resided in Williamsburg where they lived with Helmut’s sister Gerda Graesser and her family. From there they then moved to the Amanas. Irmtraud worked at the Amana Woolen Mill until it closed, then went to work for the Amana Furniture Shop until she retired in 2004.

She loved being around her family and spending time with her friends. She enjoyed cooking and keeping her house clean. Her hobbies were gardening, working outdoors, crocheting, reading, water aerobics, and taking walks. She enjoyed camping and sitting around the campfire, also taking vacations. Irmtraud so enjoyed watching her grandchildren with their various sports and band activities. She made it to most all of them, no matter what the weather was.

In her later years she had a hunger to know more about her loving Savior and had many of her questions answered. This led her to having the Savior come live in her heart forever and continue to grow in God’s wisdom and knowledge.

The family wishes to thank the great staff at Colonial Manor and Essence of Life Hospice, for the wonderful care given to Mama/Oma these past 6 years.
