James Ernest Swartzendruber

WASHINGTON -James Ernest Swartzendruber was born December 26, 1942, in rural Wellman, Iowa, and passed away on Friday, December 22, 2017, at the McCreedy Home in Washington. He was a long-time resident of the McCreedy Home. Prior to that he was a resident of Washington County Home and Orchard Hill ResCare in Washington.
James was preceded in death by his parents, Ernest and Mary, and a nephew Jeff Swartzendruber. He is survived by two brothers and two sisters; Arlis (Nancy) Swartzendruber of Mesquite, Nevada, Teresa (Bill) Bainter of Goshen, Indiana, Dellis (Judy) Swartzendruber of Anamosa, Iowa, Violet Draga of Richmond, Kentucky, and five nephews; Cloy, Kevin, Kevin, Darren, Sean and Lance.

Celebration of Life Service will be held at 1:00 PM on Thursday, December 28, 2017 at the Yoder-Powell Funeral Home in Kalona. Pastor Don Patterson will officiate. Burial will be in the Sharon Hill Cemetery. The family will greet friends from 12:30 PM - 1:00 PM prior to the service. The Yoder-Powell Funeral Home is caring for James and his family.
