James “Jim” A. Jacobs, age 72, of Conroy, passed away Thursday, February 27, 2025, at St. Luke’s Unity Point in Cedar Rapids from complications of Influenza.

A Celebration of Life will be held from 1 to 5 p.m., Saturday, March 15, 2025, at the Hilton Hall in Conroy. Wear your plaid flannel shirts in memory of Jim. Memorials may be contributed to the Safe Haven of Iowa County, First Lutheran Church in Conroy, or the Hilton Hall in Conroy.

James Allen Jacobs was born June 16, 1952, in Homestead, Iowa, the son of Eugene and Lorena (Folkmann) Jacobs. He graduated from Williamsburg High School in 1970. After high school he was a member of the National Guard. Jim was a farmer his whole life. His love were his cows, and his Australian Shepherd and Border Collie dogs. He grew up on the family farm outside of Conroy and loved the outdoors. He was an active member of the Hilton Happy Hustlers 4-H group and showed his Hereford cows. Jim served on the Board of Directors for the Heartland Co-op, and was one of the main contacts supporting the Hilton Hall.

Jim is survived by his sister, Jeanne (Jim) Stursa of Owatonna, MN., nieces, Jamie (Rob) Tiedemann of Owatonna, MN., and Kelli (Greg) Sackett of Owatonna, MN., great nieces and nephews, Cassie Tiedemann, Ashley Tiedemann, Matthew Tech, Ashley Tech, Tyler Sackett, Brittany Sackett and Benjamin Sackett; and many dear cousins.

He is preceded in death by his parents Eugene and Lorena Jacobs.
