Wellman- James D. Wilson was born November 11, 1947, in Macon County, Missouri, the son of Everett and Wanda (McFarland) Wilson. James graduated from high school before joining the Army in 1970. James worked at Oral B for 27 years before retiring. He was united in marriage to Carol on August 23,1991. James enjoyed watching Walker Texas Rangers and having a few drinks with family and friends. James passed away Wednesday, September 27, 2023, at Parkview Manor in Wellman at the age of 75 years old.

James is survived by his wife Carol of Wellman; five children: James Wilson of North Liberty, Angie Griffin of Wellman, Missy Brunk of Kinross, Scott Griffin of Wellman and Dennis Gonzalus of Iowa City. He is preceded in death by his parents.

A visitation will be held from 10:00 to 12:00 am on Saturday, October 7, 2023, at the Powell Funeral Home in Wellman. A graveside service will be held at 12:15 am in the Wellman Cemetery. Following the graveside service there will be a gathering at The Well in Wellman. A general memorial fund has been established.
