Jameson R. Lammer, 29, of Marion, died Thursday, May 8, 2025.
Jameson was born September 21, 1995, in Iowa City, the son of Kevin and Lisa (Yoder) Lammer. He was baptized at the West Union Mennonite Church. He graduated from IMS in 2014, and continued his education at UNI, earning a bachelor’s degree in psychology. Jameson’s kind heart led him to serve in his community as a proud member of Muscatine Fire Department as a firefighter and EMT, as well as his work caring for patients at the University of Iowa Hospital. In 2019, Jameson met Gina Galaszewski at the Iowa City Block Party. They became life partners, adventurers, and eventually welcomed their son in 2020. Jameson’s greatest joy came from his family and friends; but most especially with his son, Oliver. Hiking, pinecone hunting, planting flowers, playing guitar duets, wrestling, painting, and reading books became his favorite pastimes, all while watching Oliver discover the world. Oliver was his whole heart.
Jameson is survived by his loving partner Gina of Marion, and the light of his life, their son Oliver; parents Kevin and Lisa Lammer of Kalona; 3 brothers Elliott of Charleston, South Carolina, Tyler Lammer, and Kevin Lammer both of Denver, Colorado; and many aunts, uncles, cousins, extended family, and friends.
Jameson’s bright smile, sense of humor, quick comebacks, generosity and thoughtfulness will be missed by every person who was blessed to have met him.
He was preceded in death by his grandparents Dominic and Virginia (McAndrew) Lammer, Donald W. and Ruth (Sutter) Yoder, aunt Linda, uncle James, and cousin Christopher.
A Celebration of Life Memorial Service will be held 10:30-5:00 p.m. Sunday, May 18, 2025, at the Red Haw Shelter Building in Kent Park, Oxford. In lieu of flowers, a memorial fund has been established for his son Oliver’s education. The Yoder-Powell Funeral Home is caring for Jameson and his family.
