Janet Lee Kaalberg

Marengo-Janet Lee Kaalberg was born January 21, 1935, in Washington, Iowa, the daughter of Harry Miller and Genevieve Harrison. Janet grew up in Washington, Iowa. Janet was united in marriage to Ambrose John Kaalberg on July 24, 1954 at St. James Catholic Church in Washington. She was a homemaker. Janet lived in Cedar Rapids, Walker, Ladora and most recently Marengo. Janet and Ambrose fostered children, adopting two throughout the years. She enjoyed listening to music, reading and going dancing with Ambrose. She was an avid Iowa Hawkeye fan, especially watching basketball. Janet died on Sunday, May 31, 2026, at Rose Haven Nursing Home in Marengo, at the age of 91 years.

She is survived by her children, Judy (Larry) Madsen of Marengo, Brook (Greg) Noble of North Liberty, Jewelly Kaalberg of Marion, and Joe (Stacy) Kaalberg of Cascade; six grandchildren, Adam Dye, Dustin Weber (Sierra Clason) Chris (Liz) Weber, Cameron Weber (Ava Goodwin) Tyler Kaalberg and Andrew Kaalberg; and three sisters, Deidre Zehr, Phyllis Klaus and Nancy Miller. She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Ambrose, granddaughter, Jessica Kaalberg, grandson, Nick Dye, three brothers, Bill, Johnny, and Tom Miller, and sister, Marilyn Steen.
