Janice Marie Groff

Millersburg- Janice Marie Groff was born September 23, 1954 in Washington, Iowa, the daughter of Donald Eugene and Donna Marie (Murphy) Bush. She graduated from Mid Prairie High School in 1972 and later from Kirkwood Community College with her degree in Floriculture. On October 13, 1973 Janice was united in marriage to Gary Dennis Groff at the Asbury United Methodist Church in Wellman. She owned and operated the Living Green Flower shop in Montezuma for many years and worked at the University of Iowa as a custodian before retiring in 2020. Janice was a member of the St. Joseph Catholic Church in North English and served with the Altar & Rosary Society. She enjoyed planting and arranging flowers, canning, sewing, quilting, thrifting for treasures, and spending time with family and friends. Janice passed away on Friday, February 11, 2022 in Ankeny at the age of 67 years.

She is survived by her husband Gary "Dennis" of Millersburg; a daughter Kim (David) Tipton of Cedar Rapids; a son Brad (Allison) Groff of Cedar Rapids; six grandchildren Jacob, Katelyn & Andrew Tipton and Braiden, Addison & Braxton Groff; her mother Donna Bush of Wellman; two sisters Karen (Bob) Christner of Kalona and Brenda (Merlin) Hershberger of Wellman; and numerous nieces and nephews, cousins and in-laws. She was preceded by her father, Donald Bush; sister Carol Mullen; and brother-in-law's Ron Mullen and Jerry Griffith.

Funeral Mass will be held 10:30 am on Wednesday, February 16, 2022 at St. Joseph Catholic Church in North English. Burial will be in the Millersburg Cemetery. Visitation will be on Tuesday, February 15, from 5:00 - 7:00 pm at the Powell Funeral Home in North English. In lieu of flowers, a general memorial fund has been established.
