Jerry A. Denzler

Jerry A. Denzler, age 75 of Marengo, passed away Friday evening, August 25, 2017 at his home. Funeral Service: 10:00 A.M. Tuesday, August 29, 2017, Kloster Funeral Home, Marengo with Rev. Andrew Gray officiating. Burial will be in the Marengo Cemetery. Visitation: 4 to 6 P.M. Monday, August 28, 2017, Kloster Funeral Home, Marengo. In lieu of flowers, a memorial fund has been established.

Jerry was born June 16, 1942 in Cedar Rapids, Iowa, the son of Roy A. Denzler, Jr. and Margaret Reece Denzler. He graduated from Iowa Valley High School of Marengo in 1960, and attended Iowa State University, enrolled in the Farm Program. Jerry and Carole L. Possehl were married April 16, 1961 in Marengo, Iowa. The couple farmed for many years. Jerry was also involved in the real estate and other private business ventures. He was a life member of the National Rifle Association.

He is survived by his wife Carole; his daughter, Nicolle R. “Niki” Kearney and husband Greg of Overland Park, KS; two grandchildren, Justin and Courtney Kearney; and special sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law, and mother-in-law.

He was preceded in death by his parents, and his father-in-law, Leo Possehl.
