Jill Wycoff

Jill Wycoff (Snoddy) passed away peacefully at home in Nevada, Iowa, on June 27, 2026, surrounded by family, following a long-fought battle with breast cancer. Born on September 17, 1951, in Cedar Rapids, Iowa, Jill grew up with a resolute spirit and a remarkable sense of humor that would define her throughout her life.

Jill graduated from Ames High in 1973, marking the beginning of a journey rooted deeply in commitment to both family and community. Her career began in the kitchen of Nevada Schools, where she enjoyed all the students and her coworkers. Seeking new challenges, she was employed at the Horticultural Gardens at ISU for several years, then transitioned to McFarland Clinic - Central Supply in Ames, where she worked until she retired from the clinic in 2014.

Those who knew Jill will remember her as someone who liked to have control of situations, always ensuring that things ran smoothly around her. She brought a blunt sense of humor to all interactions, lightening the mood and offering honesty when it was needed most. Especially close to her father, Jill cherished their unique bond, even as their personalities sometimes contrasted like oil and water. She also had a special place for her animals, Bentley the Old English Sheepdog and Eagen and Eddie, her Corgis. Jill’s love of books, plants, flowers and gardening were at her core with all of nature and the outdoors. She would never turn down a road trip with family.

Jill is survived by her devoted husband, Carl, whose partnership with her was anchored in love and mutual respect. She is lovingly remembered by her children: Jennifer Sibley (Michael) and their three children Eliza Sibley (fiancé Jesus Ortiz Diaz), Gwen Sibley (Zane Phelps) and Bel Sibley, Christopher Folkmann (Melissa), and their two children Grayson Folkmann and Declan Folkmann, Makenzie Patterson (Robert III) and their two children Chloe Patterson and Gretchen Patterson (fiancé Noah Robben) and adopted son Noah Wycoff. Jill took special pride in her grandchildren as well as her sister, Joan Keiser and her children Brian Keiser (Tia Flanagan), Shelly Westfall (Joe) and Doug Keiser (Brenda)—each of whom brought her immeasurable joy and laughter and held a special place in Jill’s heart.

Jill was preceded in death by her father, Jack Snoddy, her mother, Mary Phyllis Romberg Snoddy, her son, Joshua Alan Wycoff (Noah’s father), and her brother-in-law, Gary Keiser.

Jill Wycoff’s presence in the lives of family and friends was marked by her authenticity and unwavering love. Her straightforward humor, resilience, and dedication to those she cherished leave a legacy that will be treasured for generations to come.

A celebration of life visitation will be Saturday, August 15, 2026 from 9:00 to 10:30 am at the Powell Funeral Home in Williamsburg. Burial will be at Pilot Grove Cemetery. Messages and tributes may be directed to www.powellfuneralhomes.com.
