Joyce Kay Riley

Joyce Kay Riley passed away on Tuesday, October 10, 2017 at Mercy Hospital in Cedar Rapids. The funeral service and committal are at 1:00 P.M., Wednesday, October 18, 2017 at Pleasant Hill Cemetery, 21 ^st Ave., Blairstown, with Pastor Max Mons officiating. There will be no visitation. Arrangements are with Kloster Funeral Home, Marengo.

Joyce Simmons was born on May 25, 1938, to Owen and Alice Simmons, Blairstown. She was baptized on June 5, 1938 and gained the victory that Christ won for her. She was married to William Riley on July 23, 1976.

Joyce is survived by her husband, William; three children, Julie (Thomas) Trachta, John (Lori) Danker, and Jayne (John) Salzbrenner; three step-children, Terry (Patty), Larry (Valerie), and Valerie (David) Haney; numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren; a sister, Elaine (Blaine) Simmons, and two brothers, Dennis (Ruth), and Joe (Mary); two sisters-in-law, Kathleen and Karen, and one brother-in-law, Edward (Frances); a daughter-in-law, Sharon; and several nieces and nephews.

Joyce is preceded in death by her parents and step-son Garry.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be sent to St. Paul’s Lutheran Chapel, 404 Jefferson St., Iowa City, Iowa.
