Judith S. Yoder

Judith S. (Hochstedler) Yoder the daughter of Sylvan and Ollie Hochstedler. She was born August 16, 1948 in Kalona, IA. She died in her home in rural Kalona on Thursday August 24, 2023 at the age of 75 years 7 days, following a battle with cancer.

In her youth, she accepted Christ as her Saviour and was baptized and remained a faithful member until her death. On October 10, 1974 she was united in marriage to Dennis J. Yoder and lived in matrimony for 48 years.

Judith is survived by her husband, Dennis, 2 sons and 1 daughter; Karl (Ruby) Yoder,  Omer (Katie) Yoder and Susan (at home) all of Kalona.14 grandchildren; 4 sisters; Vera (David) Gingerch of Kalona; Barbara Miller of Sarasota, FL, Ida Helmuth and Elizabeth (Chris) Schlabach of Kalona. 2 Brothers; Lloyd and Miriam Hochstedler Paul and Emma Hochstedler of  Kalona. She was preceded in death by her Parents, a 8.5 year old son, John Sylvan, 1 sister, Magdalene Hochstedler; 2 Brother-in-laws Daniel W. Miller and Elmer Helmuth.

The family wishes to thank everyone for their thoughtfulness; bouquets of  flowers; prayers; food and support during her illness and death. Judith had visitors stop by every day. Since her diagnosis. Thank you for your effort. May God Bless you all.

A Funeral Service will be 9:30am Saturday, August 26, 2023 at the Dennis Yoder Residence 1844 520th St. SW Kalona. Visitation days and hours will be Thursday, August 24 from 3 pm to 8 pm and Friday, August 25 beginning at 10am at the Dennis Yoder Residence 1844 520th St. SW Kalona. A memorial fund has been established for Iowa City Hospice. Yoder Powell Funeral Home in Kalona is caring for Judith and her family.
