Kenneth Ray Shaull, age 94, of Millersburg, passed away at the English Valley Care Center on Monday, November 1, 2021. Private family graveside services will be held with Chaplain Wendy Christiansen officiating. Burial will be in the Ladora Cemetery. A public visitation will be held from 10:00 a.m. until 11:00 a.m., Friday, November 5, 2021, at Kloster Funeral Home, Marengo. Memorials may be contributed in Kenneth’s name to Essence of Life Hospice.
Kenneth is survived by his wife Marcella; his children, Kenneth (Ica) Shaull, of North Liberty, Cheryl Shaull, of Newton, and Stacy (John) Hlavacek, of Glenrock, Wyoming; six grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; and a sister Meredith (Ed) Goodwin, of Illinois. He was preceded in death by his parents Alfred and Marie Shaull, and a daughter Rhonda Carlo in 2019.
Kenneth was born August 19, 1927, in Millersburg, the son of Alfred and Pearl Marie (Schaffner) Shaull. He graduated from Deep River-Millersburg High School. Following High School, he served as a Merchant Marine. Kenneth was united in marriage to Marcella K. York on April 9, 1950 in Millersburg. The couple made their home in Millersburg, Ottumwa, Cedar Rapids and Williamsburg. They enjoyed vacationing in the Smokie Mountains in North Carolina, where they moved after retirement. Kenneth drove truck for his dad Alfred, until he became a representative of International Harvester, the “red power” that he loved. He was a member of the Masonic Lodge for 70 plus years. Kenneth loved to tinker in his shop and was a Mr. Fix it.
