Williamsburg-LaDean M. Haack was born December 28, 1913 in Millersburg, Iowa, the daughter of Alfred and Mabel (Montross) Lortz. She graduated from Millersburg High School and attended Iowa State Teachers College at Cedar Falls, Iowa. LaDean was united in marriage to Clarence "Slim" Haack on August 28, 1937 in Kirksville, Missouri. LaDean was a member of the Millersburg United Methodist Church in Millersburg. LaDean died Wednesday, January 13, 2010 at the Highland Ridge Care Center in Williamsburg at the age of 96 years. She is survived by her daughters: Carolyn (Robert) Jackson of Springfield, Il and Shirley (Pat) Greiner of Keota; five grandchildren: Brian Jackson, Timm (Emma) Jackson, Kim Greiner, Sid ( Mary) Greiner and Ted ( Wendy) Greiner; 6 great grandchildren; two sisters: Georgia Warner of North English and Kathryn Orr of Phoenix, AZ; a brother: Charles Lortz of Iowa City and a special companion: Pedro. She was preceded in death by her parents and husband in 1987. Celebration of Life Service will be 1:30 pm Sunday, January 17, 2010 at the Millersburg United Methodist Church in Millersburg. Pastor Ben Wilson will officiate. Burial will be in the Pilot Grove Cemetery near Williamsburg. Visitation will be Saturday from 4:00 to 7:00 pm at the Powell Funeral Home and Cremation Service in Williamsburg. Memorials are for the Millersburg Methodist Church or family choice.
