Lawrence "Larry" Richard Fischer

KEOTA- Lawrence “Larry" Richard Fischer, age 79 of Keota, died on Tuesday, July 7, 2026, at his home in Keota.

Larry was born October 18, 1946, in Visalia, California the son of Lawrence John and Annabelle Bertie (Disbrow) Fischer. He graduated from Mt. Whitney High School in 1964. In March of 1966, Larry enlisted in the US Navy and served in Vietnam. On September 2, 1972, Larry was united in marriage to Edele Joyce Elliott in Visalia, California. Over the years, they lived in California, Arizona and North Carolina until moving to Keota in 2015. He worked for Moore Business Forms/RR Donnelly as a team leader for over 36 years. Larry was a member of the Good Neighbor Fellowship in Keota and was on the building committee, Visalia Runners Club, Garden Club and a men’s and co-ed soccer club. He enjoyed gardening, playing soccer, painting, drawing, writing stories, square dancing, woodworking and making furniture.

He is survived by his wife Edele of Keota; children Gene Fischer of Michigan, Katrina (Dante Nava) Fischer of Arizona and Laban Fischer of Iowa; grandchildren Laura Dee, Ashley, Ethan, Autumn, Dante, Drake, Charlotte, Damon, Phoenix and Adaline; five great grandchildren; and siblings Darlene McGovran, Greg Fischer, Terry Fischer, Chris Fischer, Pat Fischer, Becky Sansoni, Cathy Smith and Richard Fischer. He was preceded by his parents and a sister Linda Wells.

A memorial service will be held at 11:00 am on Saturday, July 18, 2026, at the Good Neighbor Fellowship Church in Keota. A general memorial fund has been established. Powell Funeral Home in Keota is caring for Larry and his family. Messages and tributes may be left at www.powellfuneralhomes.com.
