Linda Vicker

MOUNT PLEASANT - Linda Vicker, 78, of Mount Pleasant, Iowa, died Thursday, July 29, 2021 at her home.

Linda was born January 15, 1943 in Mount Pleasant, the daughter of Edwin and Margery (Barton) Leveling. She went to grade school in Salem and graduated from Mount Pleasant High School in 1961. On September 1, 1961, Linda was united in marriage to Jerry Vicker in Mount Pleasant. Linda had an in-home daycare for over 50 years. She enjoyed flowers, gardening, puzzles, reading and sewing.

Linda is survived by her husband Jerry of Mount Pleasant, Iowa; four children, Lori (Steve) Mendenhall of Mount Pleasant, Iowa; James (Kathy) Vicker of New London, Iowa; Leigh (Matt) Rosengren of Logan, Iowa; Jared (Brooke) Vicker of Washington, Iowa; six grandchildren, Reed and Riley Mendenhall, Lynzee (James) Branstetter and Mason Rosengren, Myla and Seth Vicker; a brother John (Marilyn) Leveling of Fort Madison, Iowa; and a sister Marilyn (Ronnie) Smithburg of Salem, Iowa.

She was preceded in death by her parents.

Funeral service will be held at 1:00 pm on Monday, August 2, 2021 at Olson-Powell Memorial Chapel. Visitation will be held from noon until service time. Burial will be at the Forest Home Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, a memorial fund has been established for Southeast Iowa Regional Hospice.
