KEOTA-Donna Lois Anderson, age 92, of Keota, died Tuesday, July 28, 2026, at her grandson’s home near Keota.
Lois was born April 19, 1934, in rural Keokuk County, the daughter of Bruce and Mary (Greenwood) Stoutner. She grew up in the Keota community and graduated from Keota High School. On February 14, 1954, she married Larry Anderson in Keota. Lois moved with Larry while he was in the service until 1956, when they moved back to Keota. Lois was a food services server at Keota Community Schools for several years. She was a member of the United Church of Faith in Keota and TTT. Lois enjoyed playing pinochle, baking, attending her grandchildren’s events, holidays and spending time with her family.
Survivors include four children: David (Charlotte) Anderson of Burlington, Lisa McArtor of North Carolina, Mark (Tobi) Anderson of Keota and Jeff (Deborah) Anderson of Oskaloosa; seven grandchildren: Emily Bennett, Brian and Sean McArtor, Jerzi and Phoenix Anderson, Nathan Anderson and Jenny Mochal; six step grandchildren: Brycen, Breten, Leah, Luke, Landon and Logan and many great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband: Larry in 2015; step-mother: Annetta Stoutner and sister: Charlene Orndorff.
Funeral service will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, August 8, 2026, at Good Neighbor Fellowship in Keota, with Pastor Doug Tinnes officiating. Burial will be at Keota Cemetery. Visitation will be from 9:00 a.m. until 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, August 8, 2026, at the church.
A memorial fund has been established for the United Church of Faith, Keota Fire Department, Keota QRS or Hospice Compassus. Powell Funeral Home and Cremation Service in Keota is caring for Lois and her family. Tributes may be made at www.powellfuneralhomes.com.
