Wellman- Lola Jean Marner was born April 10, 1928, in Wellman, Iowa, the daughter of Isaac Gideon and Mary Ellen (Dickel) Marner. She has lived in the Wellman area her whole life. Lola worked at the Wellman Creamery, Miller Lumber Supply, Wellman Savings Bank, secretary at Mid-Prairie School and in her semi-retirement she did dietary work at Parkview Manor. She was a member of the Wellman Mennonite Church. Lola enjoyed reading, quilting, and spending time helping people. She passed away Wednesday, April 1, 2026 at Parkview Manor in Wellman at the age of 97 years.
Lola is survived by a sisters Anna Mae Marner of Wellman, a niece Donna (Rodney) Bonwell and family and a Nephew Harold Capper and family. She was preceded in death by her parents, a sister Elmarie June Capper, seven half brothers and sisters; Ray Marner, Dave Marner, Cora Marner, Amy Hochstetler, Gertrude Miller, Leta Maust and Martha Brenneman.
A funeral service will be held at 11:00 am Saturday, April 4, 2026 at Wellman Mennonite Church in Wellman. Burial will be in Lower Deer Creek Cemetery. Visitation will be Saturday, April 4 from 10:00 am until service time. A memorial fund has been established for the Wellman Mennonite.
