Madison Woodard

Madison Woodard, 17, of Mt. Pleasant, IA, died on Thursday, March 3, 2016, at her home.Visitation will be held on Tuesday, March 8, 2016, from 4:00 to 8:00 p.m., at Faith Christian Outreach Church. A Celebration of Life Service will be held at 2:00 p.m., on Wednesday, March 9, 2016, at Faith Christian Outreach Church. In lieu of flowers, the family prefers memorials be given to the Madison Woodard Memorial. On-line condolences may be directed to www.olsonpowell.com. Olson-Powell Memorial Chapel is in charge of arrangements. Madison was born on December 20, 1998, in Hunan Province, China. A few months later, God placed her in the hands of her mother, Mary Anna Woodard and sister, Meagan Woodard. Madison was a junior at Mt. Pleasant Community High School. Madison loved animals, especially her cat "Mandu." She enjoyed reading, dancing, gymnastics, and music. She was an enthusiastic member of the E3 family and worship team. An active 11th grader, Madison demonstrated her love of music and dance as she performed with the show choir, color guard and symphonic band. She had been a cheerleader since 7th grade and was a member of the Mt. Pleasant football and basketball cheer squads. Over the past three years, she had been an essential part of the 3-A Stunt Group and the Mount Pleasant Competition Cheer Squad, which had received state champion and state runner-up status respectively. Most recently Madison had received the special honor of participation in the Iowa All-State Cheerleading Squad. Those loving Madison on Earth include her mother, Mary Anna Woodard of Mt. Pleasant, IA; a sister, Meagan Woodard of Mt. Pleasant, IA, currently attending the University of Iowa; and a multitude of friends.
