Marc Louis Wagner, 73, of Coralville, Iowa, died September 22, 2012, in Iowa City, with his family by his side. At his request, no service will be held. Mr. Wagner was born July 15, 1939, in Dubuque, Iowa, to Edwin and Marie (Schueller) Wagner. He attended Dubuque Senior High School and served in the U.S. Army thereafter, including time served in Okinawa, Japan. He retired from the University of Iowa, Iowa City, in 2001. He enjoyed golf, bowling, watching westerns, feeding his squirrels, and playing cards with his family. His sense of humor was razor-sharp, even in his final days. He is survived by his wife Carol; his brothers and their spouses Edwin and Karl (Janet), and sisters Virginia (Fred) Rohner and Dolly (George) Gates; his sons and their spouses Jeff, John (Danielle) and Nick (Barbara); foster daughter Tracey (Gary) Medinger; step-children Jed (Janet) Figg and Julie (Mike) Vinson; and seven grand-children. He was preceded in death by his father Edwin and mother Marie. In lieu of flowers, donations may be sent to Iowa City Hospice, 1025 Wade St., Iowa City, IA 52240. The Yoder-Powell Funeral Home in Kalona is in charge of the arrangements.
